Gideon Saar is an Israeli government official serving as Minister of Foreign Affairs, who has played a central role in advancing Israel's official recognition of the Armenian Genocide. He introduced a resolution on the matter to the cabinet, which was approved and later submitted to the Knesset, framing it as a moral and historical duty for Israel as a Jewish state. Saar also severed diplomatic contacts with European Union diplomat Kay Kallast following her comparison of Israeli policy to apartheid.
