Яракуй is a state in Venezuela that was severely affected by a major earthquake on June 24, with magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5. The disaster caused widespread destruction across multiple states, including significant damage in the city of La Guaira, where at least 100 buildings were destroyed down to their foundations. Other affected areas included the states of Miranda, Aragua, Carabobo, Lara, and the capital city of Caracas. The state was placed under military control due to the extent of the devastation.
