The Himalayas are a mountain range containing fourteen peaks exceeding 8,000 meters in height, located primarily in the Himalayan and Karakoram systems. These mountains are renowned for extreme climbing challenges, with notable ascents including Shisha Pangma (8,027 m) and Mount Everest (8,848 m). Russian climber Alina Pekova became the first person from Russia to summit all fourteen 8,000-meter peaks, completing her journey in October 2024. Her achievement includes climbs across both the Himalayas and Karakoram ranges.
