Sergey Besedin was injured in an explosion of a landmine on the territory of Rylskiy district in Kursk region. He was driving a vehicle together with the head of the district, Vladimir Kovalechuk, who also sustained injuries. Besedin received a non-penetrating wound to the abdomen and a shrapnel injury to the thigh. He was hospitalized at Rylskaya Central Regional Hospital for surgery.
