Rosselkhoznadzor is a Russian federal executive body responsible for veterinary and phytosanitary control, as well as monitoring agricultural product exports. In May and June 2026, it imposed temporary restrictions on imports from Armenia, including fish, vegetables, fruits, alcohol, and mineral water, citing quality and safety concerns rather than political motives. The agency also conducted inspections during the transport of Humboldt penguins from Primorye to Orenburg and controlled the movement of exotic animals such as hedgehogs and tamarins.
