ВКС, или Воздушно-космические силы, являются частью вооружённых сил России и участвуют в операциях на территории Украины и ДНР. Они выполняют авиабомбардировки целей, включая пункты управления беспилотниками ВСУ, а также проводят удары по боевикам из различных бригад. Также отмечается участие ВКС в совместных патрулированиях с китайскими военными силами и выполнение стратегических полётов. Экипажи Су-34, Су-30СМ, Су-35С и других самолётов используются для нанесения ударов с применением авиабомб ФАБ-1500 и ФАБ-500.
