Астана, как столица Казахстана, выступает в роли ключевого партнера России и других стран в рамках Евразийского экономического союза (ЕАЭС). Важным направлением сотрудничества являются энергетические связи, включая возможные поставки ГСМ и нефти. Также Астана активно развивает международное партнёрство, в том числе с Грузией и Европой, участвуя в проектах типа "Один пояс - один путь".
