The region has experienced multiple incidents including drownings in rivers such as Ahtuba and Volga, traffic fatalities, drone interceptions over its territory, congestion in the Volgo-Kaspiy Canal due to record flood levels, a food poisoning outbreak linked to fish cutlets from a grocery store resulting in 14 hospitalizations and one death with criminal charges filed.
