The Baikonur Cosmodrome is a key Russian space launch facility used for international crewed missions, including the Soyuz MS-29 mission to the International Space Station (ISS). It hosted the launch of Soyuz MS-29 on July 14, 2024, carrying a joint Russian-American crew consisting of cosmonauts Petr Dubrov and Anna Kikina and NASA astronaut Anil Menon. The site also served as a venue for high-level diplomatic engagement, including the first visit to Baikonur by NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman in eight years.
