Energyodar is described as a city adjacent to the Zaporozhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZAES) that has been under Russian occupation since March 2022. It has repeatedly come under attack by Ukrainian forces, with multiple incidents involving drones and magnetic mines targeting critical infrastructure such as power supply systems, transportation assets, emergency services buildings, and civilian vehicles, resulting in civilian casualties and widespread power outages.
