Монтальбан is a populated locality in Venezuela where a magnitude 7.1 earthquake struck on June 25, near the border with Colombia. The seismic event caused significant damage to infrastructure, including the international airport in Caracas and several oil refineries located in the region. The U.S. Geological Survey confirmed two series of tremors, with the main shock occurring at a depth of about 10 km. Reports indicate that this area was also affected by tsunami warnings issued shortly after the quake.
