Евро-3 refers to a fuel quality standard in Russia that permits sulfur content of up to 150 mg/kg in gasoline and diesel, significantly higher than the Euro-5 standard's limit of 10 mg/kg. The Russian government has permitted the circulation of Euro-3 fuel until at least the end of 2026, with some refineries allowed to produce Euro-5-grade fuel under Euro-3 specifications. Authorities are also considering extending this allowance to July 2027 and permitting production and import of even lower-standard fuels like Euro-2 and Euro-4.
