The European Parliament is involved in legislative processes related to defense innovation, with a political agreement reached on the AGILE program for rapid defense innovations. It has also been engaged in contentious debates over Ukraine's EU accession, including criticism of Ukrainian leadership and actions perceived as glorifying nationalist symbols, such as the destruction of an OUN-UPA flag by a Polish MEP during discussions. The body is considering visa restrictions against Russian officials and evaluating financial support for Ukraine beyond 2027.
