The International Federation of Football (FIFA) has permitted Russian youth football teams, including those under 15 and under 23 years old, to participate in international competitions using their national flag and anthem following the lifting of previous restrictions. FIFA also authorized participation by all member associations' teams in the U-15 World Championship held in Azerbaijan. Additionally, FIFA collaborated with UNICEF to establish the World Day of Children's Football, first celebrated in 2001.
