The International Olympic Committee (IOC) temporarily restored the membership of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) on July 7, 2026, lifting restrictions imposed in October 2023. The IOC also revoked previous recommendations requiring Russian and Belarusian athletes to compete under neutral status, allowing junior athletes to participate with their national flags and anthems, though some international federations have not yet revised their sanctions.
