Darya Doncova is a Russian writer who publicly reported that her 7-year-old grandson was severely injured in a dog attack in Dubtsy, Moscow Oblast, on July 21. The incident, involving a pit bull-type dog (identified as an Akita-Inu) walking without a leash or muzzle, led to a criminal investigation by the Investigative Committee, which opened a case under Article 118 of the Russian Criminal Code. Doncova has stated her belief that the dog's owner deliberately trained the animal to be aggressive and plans to file a civil lawsuit for medical expenses and moral damages.
