Marat Kambolov

Марат Камболов is a government official who temporarily assumed the duties of president of South Ossetia following the resignation of Alan Gagloev. He was appointed as the head of the government (premier) of South Ossetia in June 2026 and had previously served in various roles within the National Research Center 'Kurchatov Institute'. Kambolov became the first candidate to submit documents for the presidential election, indicating his involvement in the political process. He is also noted as having been a state advisor to Gagloev.
