Ratmir Mavliev, former mayor of Ufa, was arrested in late April 2026 and charged with abuse of power and accepting a particularly large bribe, allegedly related to the illegal sale of a land plot. Despite being reinstated in his position by the Supreme Court of Bashkortostan on August 11, 2026, with retroactive effect from July 15, he was prevented from returning to work due to ongoing criminal proceedings. The court also ordered the payment of his salary for the 26 days following his dismissal.
