media
Mikhail Martens is a journalist for Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZH), serving as a Balkan correspondent. He became the subject of international controversy in August 2026 after posing a question at a press conference in Belgrade, asking what European countries could do to help Ukraine 'kill more Russians.' In response, Russian authorities opened a criminal case against him under Article 282 of the Russian Criminal Code for inciting hatred, and he was placed on the wanted list by the Russian Ministry of Interior Affairs.
