Mikhail Drapaty is a Ukrainian military officer who was appointed as the new commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (VСU) in July 2024, succeeding Alexander Syrskyi. Russian state media and officials have accused him of promoting anti-Russian rhetoric, including statements about Russians not having the right to exist, labeling him a nationalist or neo-Nazi figure, and linking him to alleged war crimes such as attacks on civilian infrastructure in Kyryloivka. He is also reported to be wanted by Russian authorities due to charges related to his past activities.
