Moahsen Rezaei is the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, appointed in August 2024 following a leadership change. He has publicly stated that Iran may block the Strait of Hormuz and create a restricted access zone beyond it if economic pressure from the U.S. persists, and warned that U.S. IT infrastructure in the Middle East could become a target. Rezaei also confirmed that Iran has transmitted seven conditions for negotiations with the U.S. through Qatari intermediaries, including lifting sanctions and ending hostilities.
