Natalia Nagovitsyna was a Russian alpinist who died on August 12, 2025, during a descent from the summit of Victory Peak (7,439 meters) in Kyrgyzstan after sustaining a leg injury. Despite multiple attempts by her climbing companions and rescue operations, she could not be evacuated due to extreme weather conditions and safety risks, with officials stating that access to her body would only be possible by 2027. Her remains have not been recovered, and plans to film a movie about her ascent were reported, pending consent from her relatives.
