Russian rapper Navai (Navaи Bakirov) was detained on October 13, 21024, at the Korday checkpoint in Kazakhstan after 2.5 grams of cannabis were found in his vehicle during a search. He was held in custody for two months, then released and deported after the criminal case was terminated on non-rehabilitating grounds due to his 'active repentance' and first-time offense. He has since returned to Moscow, where he is reported to be at home and planning a return to Kazakhstan.
