Никита Зезин was a 67-year-old academic and director of the Ural Federal Agrarian Scientific Research Center under the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (UrO RAN). He died on July 22 after being severely beaten on July 13 during a confrontation with parents of children who had damaged experimental crops on the center's field. The incident led to a criminal investigation, with two individuals arrested and charged with hooliganism under Article 213, Part 2 of the Russian Criminal Code.
