Sergey Petров, the founder of the Russian auto dealer chain 'Rольф,' was sentenced in absentia by the Chereomushki District Court in Moscow to nine years in prison for allegedly orchestrating the illegal transfer of nearly four billion rubles abroad. The court recognized him as guilty of using a fictitious purchase agreement to facilitate this transfer, and he was also fined 800,000 Russian rubles. Petров, a former member of the Russian State Duma, is currently not in Russia and was tried in his absence.
