Timur Ivanov is a former deputy minister of defense of Russia, convicted in 2014 for embezzlement related to the procurement of ferry vessels for the Kerch Strait crossing and money laundering involving over 3.9 billion rubles. The Supreme Court of Russia upheld his 13-year prison sentence in September 2025, rejecting appeals from his defense. He has expressed intentions to seek service on the Special Military Operation (SVO) through a contract with the Constitutional Court of Russia.
