Valeriy Kustov, founder and major shareholder of the Russian food conglomerate EFKO, was arrested in Moscow on July 30, 2024, by the Mещansky District Court on charges of fraud and misappropriation in a particularly large amount. He is alleged to have orchestrated fraudulent procurement of drones under the national project 'Future Transport' (Unmanned Aerial Systems), with damages estimated at 8.6 billion rubles by investigative sources.
