Vladimir Zhuravlev, a 66-year-old historian and former municipal deputy from Lomonosov, was sentenced by the Petrodvortsovsky District Court in Saint Petersburg to three years in prison for spreading 'military fake news' about the Russian Armed Forces through social media posts. He is also a suspect in the sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines, having been detained in Croatia in 2025 during filming of a movie about the incident, and later had his extradition to Germany approved by a Croatian court.
