Alexander Vucic, a former president of Serbia, stepped down from the presidency on 27 September and is running as a candidate for Prime Minister in the upcoming 25 October parliamentary elections. He has consistently stated that Serbia will not impose sanctions on Russia or participate in European military plans against Russia, emphasizing close ties with Moscow and personal interactions with Vladimir Putin. Vucic has also expressed concern over rising European military spending, warning of the risk of a third world war.
