Earlier, an expert group of the State Language Commission proposed to replace the letter 'э' with 'е' in the Kyrgyz alphabet and reserve the letters 'э', 'ц', 'щ', 'ъ', 'ь', 'ю', 'ё', and 'я' exclusively for foreign words.
