A magnitude 5.4 earthquake was recorded on September 5 at 10:52 local time (02:52 Moscow time) in the Pacific Ocean, with its epicenter 144 km east of the village of Raydovo on Iturup Island. According to seismologists, underground tremors were felt with an intensity of up to three degrees in populated areas on Iturup.
