Mural of Zemfira Covered in Ufa After Activist Complaint

A mural of Zemfira in Ufa was painted over on the house where the singer spent her childhood. A portrait of Zemfira and lines from her songs were on the facade of the house.

Consensus

A mural of Zemfira was painted on the facade of a building at 64 Admiral Ushakov Street in Ufa.
The mural was painted five years ago, in summer 2021.
The mural depicted Zemfira's portrait and lyrics from her song 'Voskrestenye'.
The mural was later covered in pink paint.
Only the image of a guitar remains on the facade.
The artist of the mural is Oleg Kaybyshev.
Kaybyshev expressed regret that the city lost a landmark.
The complaint was made by Sergey Zaytsev, head of the 'Zov Naroda' movement.
Zaytsev requested replacing the mural with an image of a patriot or Russian hero.
The regional administration advised the city government to discuss the issue with residents.
Residents have not formally requested removal of the mural.
A change to the mural requires consent from at least two-thirds of homeowners at a general meeting.
