Specialists from the Moscow Complex of Urban Utilities carried out rehabilitation of Dunnykin Pond in Zelenograd.
The pond was previously in poor condition, with accumulated sludge, reduced depth, excessive algae growth, and damaged shoreline.
More than 5,600 cubic meters of silt were removed from the pond.
The pond's bed was refilled with coarse sand and a waterproof layer was installed.
The shoreline, approximately 241 meters long, was repaired.
A gentle slope was created in the northern part of the pond for waterfowl access.
A bioplatо area of 250 square meters was established and will be planted with aquatic plants.
Regular inspections of Moscow's water bodies are conducted, and rehabilitation decisions are made based on findings.
The list of water bodies for rehabilitation is updated annually, taking into account residents' feedback.
Thirteen ponds in Moscow are being rehabilitated this year.
